I've also added the list to a long form post too so it's easier to share the list "natively" on nostr

Can you explain this for a noob like me? πŸ˜…

Thanks for asking! So if you don't know TOR, it's basically a clever way to send your encrypted network traffic through multiple servers before it reaches a website. That way the website host wouldn't know who requested it and thus you get better privacy. It's a very simplistic way to explain it so I'd encourage you to google or chat gpt it if you want to know how it really works.

So what the relays on this list has done, is to expose the relay to the TOR network which is kind of similar to exposing it to the internet through a domain name (such as relay.damus.io e.g.). Again, a very simplistic way to look at it but I hope that makes sense.

Thank you for the explanation, that helped a lot 😊

Still mining a vanity one? filterwine... will take forever πŸ˜‚

Hahaha nah that would be optimistic. Just need to get a few things in order with filter first. I don’t want to deal with the /npub path with onion addresses so I want to make sure everyone is comfortable on root with AUTH first.

I had settled on winefiltr but only a few hours after I wrote this I found winefilter somehow πŸ˜‚

Do any clients have tor built in ?

Use amethyst + orbot, no need for builtin tor when a dedicated app does it well

this really have to DYNAMIC in long run and address need to shuffled, similar what nostr.watch is doing on clearnet - apparent few have interest onion since it doesnot benefit them in any way.
