🚨 Protect your nsec! 🚨

Yesterday i witnessed someone accidentally share his nsec. It wasn’t the first time i saw this. 😔

It kept me busy because this can destroy all the reputation you built up in one single moment. 💥

And almost always it is because the nsec is still in the clipboard and you paste it accidentally. 📋

Fortunately in damus there will be a warning when you try to share an nsec. ⚠️

But to make it a little more less likely to share it by mistake, i have splitten up my nsec in 3 parts in the location i stored it. So i will never have the whole nsec in my clipboard. ✂️

Maybe consider doing this too to make it a little safer. 🔐

Ah i see you do it offline 😅

In this case it wouldn’t make a difference. Just be very aware when you manually type it somewhere to log in that you don’t accidentally publish it 🙏

thank you :,) that’s why I do it offline, can’t accidentally paste it anywhere, and I think it’s the most secure

It is but one more hint:

Make sure that you can identify every single character 😅

In handwriting some have issues to tell if they have written a O or a 0 (o or zero) or a I or a l (i or L)… have to desl with that sort of problems every day 😅
