I see it as there will be more folks that will be wanting to pay in bitcoin and the business owners will need to have options.

I think there will always need to be energy and options for self-sovereignty. If L2 or L3 keep moving further away from self-sovereignty to "fix" the easy of use problems, this will end up creating trouble later.
