Meet Ann. After 18 years of paralysis, she is rediscovering her voice thanks to an Al brain implant from @ucsfneurosurgery, the Chang Lab, and

@berkeley_engineering: With tiny brain electrodes decoding her speech signals,

Ann can speak sentences using synthesized speech and a digital avatar. https://cdn.nostr.build/p/gYjO.mov

Beware anyone promoting the idea of healthy people having neural wires. I would only do it if I could see the source code in the device, and the full schematic of the microcircuitry.

Anyone who is healthy and gets this done is opening themselves up to be like those cockroaches.

You honestly think paralysis is healthy ?

I seriously don’t understand why’d you reply that

I literally posted an example of someone who desperately needs it

There’s no need to make it about you and what you would do, it’s not always about us. specially when you’re healthy like you said, I’d understand if that wasn’t the case.

Nothing to do with me. Great, a person was able to recover their ability to walk. But don't mistake the solution as having general utility.

It's a certainty that if these Neuralink things that mister Baphomet suit Elon Musk is funding the development were "approved" by the FDA they would be trying to get everyone to do it.

So that article was propaganda, in my eyes, and nothing to do with me. Just warming people up to the "benefits" same as they did with tobacco, mobile phones, wifi, LED lights, and all the other technologies that now have created this new thing called "Digital Wellbeing", night light, and so on.

If you don't recognise that this is an attempt to whitewash the technology so healthy people get them...

The precautionary principle should temper any enthusiasm for this technology. If it can make you walk, it can make you paralysed too.

I can tell you didn’t read shit you’re just talking out of your ass, who said she could walk again ?

pls exit as anything you say is obviously out of your ass, read & watch before you speak.

If anyone is curious about the reality of having an implanted biomedical device, I’ve had two different spinal cord stimulators over the years.

What is the remarkable thing here , that you can implant someone with a brain -chip or that it uses A I ?

idk what do you think

i dont know enough about the AI stuff , so the actual surgical aspect seems more interesting . That being said , I know sweet fuck all about surgery either .

Brain implants have been around but I’m mostly trying to get across here that Ai isn’t just ChatGPT & mid journey pictures, it’s much more that’s all 🫑

Even if this technology is still in development/testing whatever or even if its imperfect in any way, its still incredible and gives so much hope for the future. So many lives will be saved or health restored, do many ppl will be returned to society. Can you imagine what this lady was feeling when she was able again to communicate ? Omg . She probably felt like she was born for the second time. Thank you for sharing . I am also so happy now :)
