A lot of people willingly bring Alexa and other 'smart' devices into their homes. 95% of people won't care at all. That's why manufacturers and governments can do it. As long as it's convenient, the sheep will allow it.

I, for a short stint, had Google home devices in every room. Alarm clock, broadcast dinner's ready, timers, doorbell that showed the video on the screen in the kitchen and phones. But then I started realizing.
I still have the doorbell and locks and a couple of google home devices, but it's nuts when I'm making my seedphrase with my wife for my cold card and she was writing it down and I said, sorry, I can't say the words out loud because your phone listens as does google home. All the technology is in place to make 1984 a reality and places like the UK are beginning to make the actions of "the party" a reality.
