Bullshit. The entire point of Signal is that the data is end-to-end encrypted, meaning cloud service providers can't see the contents of anything you're sending/receiving. In addition to that, WhatsApp collects an insane amount of metadata from the app itself on your device. Signal collects almost nothing. Feel free to examine the code since it's open source, which by the way WhatsApp is not.
