the whole custodial vs self custody lightning argument is beyond frustrating
personally don't think there is anything wrong with custodial solutions as long as the self custody path is available to those who need/want it

For many newbies, it's better to start with custody. Even if you teach them, they may not fully understand at first the importance of a private key and forget it, lose it, thinking that there are other ways of recovery like any other services. They can lose their wallet forever and never want to heard about bitcoin again
