This will definitely be viewed in future years as the age of stupid. After hearing a headmaster justify their attendance policy, I am sure the system is either going to be dismantled or double down.
The kids obliged to study at an institution set up for the benefit of the state and it's steeple employees. If they are outside said institution 10 minutes before teachers are "ready" to open a gate, unless it's raining, they have to wait in a queue up to get in.
If they arrive 10 minutes late, they are excluded from the class and marked absent
And they are given homework after their work day.
If adults were treated like that, there would be uproar. As it is they can only get away with it within the education system.
Why might a kid be late? Maybe their biology teacher knows the answer to that but turns a blind eye, because starting at 12am to fit with the circadian cycle of adolescents doesn't fit with the teachers schedule.
Sorry, but no wonder society is going down the toilet. The age of stupid education, the age of failed economics, health care, food production, with the state hijacking ever more supporters on the payroll turning a blind eye to so many failings just to keep the gravy train going. Not impressed. I write this as someone who taught outside the state system, getting kids up to speed so they could pass ridiculous parrot fashion memory tests framed as exams. Funny how when an outsider helped them understand what the subject was actually about, they aced it. .
