There's a lot to think about in that article. I must express some skepticism at 3 g's continuous for any period of time, much less 3 days...
I've had this vision of an orbital ring encompassing the earth, and the ocean below being lilypads of algae producing methane for cheap methalox fuel. The orbital ring could have almost exactly the gravity as the surface of Earth because each segment is geostationary. Intersecting it at various points are space elevators, which terminate much much much further out than the ring. Looking up at the sky, we would see a line arcing gently across the sky, like a branch of yggdrasil from Nordic myth.
I've been thinking of making this orbital ring the central theme of a book. So far, my book only consists of a few pages of mindmap - ideas branching off each other in bubbles. Another idea in there is the problem of reconciling bitcoin's 10 min average block interval with solar colonies.
