Honestly how tf did this happen? Everyone just keeps going with it? It's even worse than 40%. That's just the income tax (direct tax), if you go and add up all the levies and indirect taxes like levies on fuel, alcohol and sugar and you add taxes like value added tax then the average person spends more than 60% of their income on the government. Ludicrous
