I have a feeling from what I think it is that I don't like it, but maybe I don't really know.

Simp is an internet slang term describing someone who shows excessive sympathy and attention toward another person, typically someone who does not reciprocate the same feelings, in pursuit of affection or a sexual relationship. This behavior, known as simping, is carried out toward a variety of targets, including celebrities, politicians, e-girls, and e-boys.
Reading this I just made the connection of simp and sympathy.
You can have sympathy without simping
And you can have confidence without being arrogant. Anything taken to an extreme can be bad. But reading your definition I had a lightbulb moment of oh that's where the word came from.
pimps: abuse women, look down on them and make them work only to take their money.
simps: worship women obsessively, defend women from any and all perceived sleights, and give them money so they don't have to work.
subscribers to a girl's only fans, twitch, etc., could be called simps.
Become ethot, and teh simps will come.
Dang, I totally had a wrong idea... the only reference I had for the word was being used in reference to Jack and Michael Saylor... not women celebs and/or that any sexual connotation was implied.
I still am not sure I fully get it but this is a great discussion to start grasping the general idea...
