The earth isnt a greenhouse. Atmospheric carbon increasing (dramatically vs slowly) fucks up ecosystems. If you dont believe me, create a terrarium with plants and animals then bump up the co2, the composition will change and likely biodiversity will decrease, especially in relation to animals

I don’t disagree that life optimizes for current conditions and deviation from current constraints will pick new winners and losers and that the process of re-optimization will take way longer than our ability to change conditions.

Exactly. This is why we should be conservative bc weve already shown humanity to be retarded just by thistle, kudzu and other invasives. Otherwise we're hust repeating the mistakes that we recognize were made by midwits a century or two ago, depending on the species, and maintain nature

Judging by population growth, or the lack thereof, it seems that humans are doing a good job of decreasing themselves…now one can argue whether or not decreased humans is a desirable outcome or worthy goal or not, but it seems the system is autocorrecting without intervention.

I dont know where that topic change came from.

Why are micro nuclear reactors used in warships, but not for cities?
