Why buy a real painting from an artist and help them stay afloat when you can just buy a TV that looks like a painting and have it rotate images… oh and it has an “ai” processor so it’s neat and 3x the price (probably) of a regular display.

Make the art more impressive than the TV and I will buy it. TVs are pretty damn impressive. Technology is an art in itself.
So that you can watch TV on it.
Because a thing made by a person manually, any thing, not only a painting, is an accumulation of energy of its creator and even owners. Besides all other dimensions: functionalities, aesthetic value, etc. And we as a spectators or owners can feel it , even if it's not consciously processed. Also paintings because they have physical representation accumulate energy of its owners and its spectators through time. And this is also can be felt. I know all these sounds like new age abracadabra and hallucination, but this is true. When you look at 14th century icon in a church or cathedral, or at 17th century painting in a museum , it FEELS different than when you look at their printed versions online or in a book. Living in a 18-19 century building feel different as well. You cant deny it. That is why also family jewellery or cutlery or even cloths has much more to them. what we call a sentimental value is just another way of saying that these pieces are bearers of energy×time - history of your clan. That is why I don't worry about craftsmen of all kinds, Inc. Painters, sculptors, fashion designers and such. They will not only survive, but will thrive in AI age that is coming. The only measure that will remain is a talent. All what i wrote also concerns food . That is why we prefer home made food, or good restaurants over fast food. Time×energy. Yes, you can say, no i prefer it because it's healthier, but why is it healthier ? Energy×time. P.S. TV that looks like a painting is also cool 😎
