Regardless of the endgame there's a demand/need for stablecoins for now. That could open the door for stable ecash though and I can see a use case for it. The advantage is that it would remove censorship ability from thether.

I agree but disagree on the fact of wasting any energy building anything outside bitcoin.
I’m pretty lukewarm on the whole Tether thing on Lightning. Lightning is not exclusive to bitcoin, so let them try it out. I am sticking with Bitcoin as my base layer.

Aren't we in a keynsian fiat-high-time-preference market? And if we want to create our free market reality, am joining my voice to the ones who do not want to waste productivity energy anywhere else than what matters most. Stablecoins exist because fiat exists. Building around them is just reinforcing the same broken system. Bitcoin is the exit. Why waste energy on anything else?
Agreed. Just that the best I can do is adopt Bitcoin for myself and try to nudge others. I can't (and won't) choose for them. Any epsilon in the direction of Bitcoin is good imho.
