they don't want to break huge supply chain of companies in Japan. is deeper in Japan culture to keep everyone working. USA will just let supple chain for gas engines die as try go electric

Think about the practicality for the everyday person too. Super Charging tech and availability is still pretty limited to major metro areas, so in many cases a hybrid is more practical.
But like the article says, they have an improvement roadmap.
But an electric car supply chain will grow in its place, it’s not like electric cars result in zero supply chain. It just seems oddly luddite for Japan, considering their past culture of innovation.
