Personally, I don't hate Twitter now that Elon owns it but there are definitely times where policy changes have led me to consider doing so. The problem is that I have friends there that I can't get onto any of the alternatives like Nostr or even Mastodon, and I'm not a big Discord user and I'm.certainly not giving out my phone number to anyone except people I know in person.
