Some of the most extreme tornado damage occurred on 5/27/97 in Jarrell, TX. It parked over Double Creek Estates for 3 minutes, killing all 27 residents above ground in the core. Cattle were dismembered and skinned, and responders could not distinguish human from animal remains.

I'll never forget that day. There were multiple tornados that day and one came through Austin. People I know were in a grocery store close to where it touched down and customers had to go take shelter in the walk-in coolers in the back of the store.
