The left went from criticizing the government and corporate powers
To looking to the government to fix their problems, in huge part caused or contributed by the government, and looking for the government to fight their enemies (which power’s will be used against them should their “leaders” not be in power)
That is the tale of the left the past 20 years.
Its amazing how much their trust in institutions changed after the long march through academia was complete
Its surreal that we've been alive long enough to see a complete reversal.
I no longer find myself aligned with my former peers.
Everything I've seen over the last few years pushes me firmly into the center.
Most people I now associate with are surprised that I come from the political left.
Most people I now associate with are surprised that I despise Trump.
Yet when we break out of the L/R binary and into the Auth / Lib quadrants, it all becomes clear.
