I actually like that NWC app I use it myself, however the conversation I think is more towards alby accounts themselves. The account uses email/password login for verification, this could be changed by maybe linking it to an nsec? Or if a user doesn’t want to do that or doesn’t have nostr it should have a 12/24 word seed phrase just like mutiny wallet or phoenix do. I know alby account is custodial so that isn’t how it works right now but realistically I think it should be non custodial and have a more similar implementation to maybe phoenix wallet on mobile, which runs a node locally on the phone and uses ACINQ node for routing. You could do something similar and use ur own node for routing since that’s what’s used when I send and receive to an alby account anyway. That way if anything was to happen to alby users funds would be safe. Zeusln are going down this route now as are mutiny, and while they’re using voltage node for routing not their own, they’ve done considerable amounts of work to ensure user privacy is maintained, as is shown on their blog, they go into a lot of detail there. That’s my 2 sats sir, take it or leave it 😀

thanks, very much appreciated!! And yes, this is the direction that things should and will evolve within Alby.

Though on the NWC level users should still be able to use different wallets/providers. We would not want to limit it to one wallet - custodial or non-custodial.

The great thing is that people can choose what fits them best and because of NWC, WebLN, etc. things work interoperable and devs also don't have to worry about it.
