For the last two weeks I’ve had a Huntsman spider camp out in my bathroom. 🕷️
It’s winter so he’s after a warm spot. I get it and I don’t blame him. So I don’t mind sharing my space with the hairy guy.
He comes out at dusk and positions himself on the ceiling. He goes about his business, and I go about mine.
I eventually started to wonder where he hangs out during the day time. So I started to look for some sign of him.
Yesterday I found a hint of a hairy leg behind a picture frame. I slowly peered around the edge and sure enough a huntsman spider. All good. Happy with that. At least he’s not amongst my towels. I even giggled at his hiding spot.
So this morning he was on the ceiling above my mirror again. I see him while I am putting on my makeup. And presumably he sees me.
However, today while leaving the room I pass the picture on the wall… and stop. There is a hairy leg!
I double check the ceiling and then behind the picture frame and yep… I have two hairy spiders.
So now I’m in a quandary. Will two spiders make hundreds more? Two is definitely pushing the limits of my space sharing capacity.
I have a catch and release policy on these furry fiends but do I need to help one to leave or both?
Dammit! Things I wasn’t expecting to have to consider today!!!
