Attempts at rationalising the calendar were usually done by leftists and have been disastrous, but something about the Gregorian has always struck me as being off. Not sure what exactly, but it seems arbitrary.

And I’ve long hated daylight savings - messing with the clocks is a nonsense.

This proposal from 1934 for a 13-month calendar seems rather interesting - apparently it was used internally at Kodak from 1928-1989!

The extra month would be inserted between June and July and to get a 365-day year they tacked on one extra intended as an international holiday but religious conservatives opposed it because it messed with their 7-day cycles.
