I think the goal should be everyone banging around on one web client so they catch up to the mobile apps in performance. Not that there shouldn't be more than one, but one that gets rallied around to get things going, sort of like Element for Matrix.

I think we have 2 generally: Damus for IOS and Amethyst on Android.

So long as they are competing against each other on implementations, they will probably lead adoption for a while, especially given their current ethos.

The issue is there aren't any desktop clients and the web clients aren't very good at this time. I may be a standout, but I hate using mobile for this stuff.
