to be fair, if it's a self hosted wallet you can just use a UTXO management scheme where you try to avoid reusing the same UTXO very often, this way all payments look like they are outbound instead of some being change

idk how they can enforce this rule against "unlicensed" wallet software because they can't spy on your TLS traffic and especially not when it goes over a VPN, and if they want to pass through that boundary, that is the rubicon but the industry will fight back against this because they are asking for a golden key and that makes robbing people's data (and money) just a matter of one target to attack, which will be run by government, and therefore out of date and insecure

anyway, fuck the EUSSR, i'm as deep inside that shithole federation as i would ever want to be at this point, aside from visiting lisbon to get my passport renewed at the embassy

They are also slowly banning VPNs everywhere across europe. Just disobey. Show them their laws don't matter.

X started using CloudFlare recently and the fucking CloudFlare blocks my VPN privider. Lost access to X. Fuck it and fuck CloudFlare for not being able to identify a human behind a VPN and mass blocks the whole network.

Long Live Nostr, Long Live Freedom!

i run my own VPN off a VPS that also runs a relay and a few other web services including allowing me to get my dev testing servers connected via HTTP

in the first few months cloudflare often would pop up and then it started to pop up less and i think now it's barely ever appearing because probably my IP was used by some scammy shithead and it's now been about 9 months clean, so they forget about it

which means that a lot of sites don't even see my address as a VPN anymore but just another IP address

it's very easy to run a wireguard tunnel into a VPS, and it is cheaper, when i factor in everything my server does, probably costs me about $5/month and no site can geoip me, all they see is Sofia, Bulgaria, which is a terrible place to try and enforce copyright claims, haha

i would be running it out of Astana, Kazakhstan if it weren't for the antirussian bullshit (and it's not fucking russia ffs), so Sofia is a good choice, plus their connectivity is amazing there (bulgarians love their cheap fast internet... 100mbit unlimited optic fibre connection in a country town, back in 2017... now typically 200M to 1Gbit
