Noob question. Other than the privacy of it, what are done if the benefits of minting ecash, over "uncle Jim'ing" lightning directly? I'm genuinely curious 🤔

I can onboard new users with a LN Address without having create a utxo, which is good for small amounts. If they aquire enough for a utxo then they can open a channel. Don't need to ask for permission from a custodial provider, or orherwise kyc myself in some way.
