My problem at the moment with using #bitcoin for payments is that I don't want anyone to know both my name/address AND the fact that I own bitcoin. Whirpool goes some way towards helping with the total account balance privacy side of things, but until bitcoin is ubiquitous there is always a chance of making yourself into a honeypot for bad actors.
