Had a moment this morning where it felt like everything is falling apart and I'll never get back on my feet. Being laid off is hard. Job hunting in today's tech market is hard.
I stopped for a moment to remind myself that I'm healthy, my family is healthy, we live in a nice house in a nice neighborhood, and there's a lot of love in here.
Life is good. Sometimes it takes a moment to remember it, but life is good.

The tech job market is surprisingly rough this year. So much of it is hidden under the artifice of false, glowing reports on the economy. This makes it harder.

Thanks Shawn. I'm not a software dev so the nostr connection doesn't help as much. I'm now a flailing telecom middle-manager and no one wants to hire one, so I'm working on pivoting to cybersecurity. Got myself a couple new certs, studying for more, and finding myself looking for some IT positions closer to entry level to build myself back up again.
It’s not for me to tell you who or what you are, friend, but perhaps that’s just the story playing in your mind right now? I’ve been through lows where I counted myself out, so I do understand how it can come about.
