You'd be amazed at the kinds of shit EMS and fire has to deal with. Everything up to and including death. One of many reasons I left EMS and probably won't be in the hospital much longer. This is obviously extreme, and I'm not comparing my experiences (since I haven't been shot or killed - yet), but this is the general attitude toward us these days. Someone tried to punch me today on top of all the other shit I had to deal with. Violence toward us isn't rare. Fortunately, this level of it is.
