Man ceases to believe that he can protect himself by dissociating himself from others through rationalist thinking, humanist morality, formal law, liberalism, democracy, and parliament. All these forms reveal only a deep division in humanity, a disunity, a lack of a united spirit, they are all forms of legalized separation, agreements to leave one another alone, unwilling to choose the Truth.
