⚡️🍕 BITCOIN PIZZA DAY - Exactly 15 years ago today, on May 22, 2010, a software developer by the name of Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10,000 #BTC.

A look back at this legendary moment!

It all began on May 18, 2010, when Laszlo was a developer and Bitcoin enthusiast.

He wanted to give BTC a real purpose and came up with a brilliant idea: to do what millions of people do every day - order a pizza.

But it's 2010 and no pizzeria accepts BTC as a means of payment.

So he decided to post a message in the BitcoinTalk Forum:

"I'm willing to pay 10,000 bitcoins for two large pizzas..."

So he offers to exchange 2 pizzas for 10,000 BTC

This is equivalent to about $41.

For 3 days, Laszlo Hanyecz received no positive response.

On May 21, he posted a new message: "So nobody wants to buy pizza from me? Is the amount of bitcoin I'm offering too low?"

The next day, May 22, 2010, Jeremie Sturdivant aka "Jercos", another #Bitcoin enthusiast, replies to Lazlo on the forum and accepts the proposal.

Jeremie had Papa John's deliver two pizzas to a Florida resident (Laszlo).

Jérémie would later confess to having used the 10,000 BTC for expenses on a trip shortly afterwards.

Laszlo receives 2 huge pizzas at home 🍕

This legendary scene has been immortalized forever.

Much more than a simple purchase of pizzas, this transaction is the very first purchase of property with Bitcoin, this moment becomes historic!

Today, 10,000 Bitcoin are worth over $1 billion!

And so, May 22 became Bitcoin Pizza Day

Beyond the symbolism, this event has become a real day of celebration for the Bitcoin & Crypto community!

I'll post all the screenshots in the comments section!
