AI, some zkp provers, lattice cryptography, anything on a gpu. Its all linear algebra. Back in my day they just said “if you’re doing some scientific computing, you might run into it”

Good luck with quaternions without understanding linear algebra and laplace transforms first. Partial differential equations are trivial in comparison.
