I second that. Idk how this would happen.

Thether buys US debt to back their USDt tokens

WHO’S GONNA BUY THE BONDS??

Oh…it’s Tether. Tether is gonna buy the bonds.

Thx for the heads up!

Ok did a quick search. Tether owns billions in treasury bills and I'm guessing that's how they maintain their supposed 1:1 value with tether users? And at the same time they get kiss uncle Sam's ass.

Maybe kinda fishy since aqua is using tether... Maybe it ain't the best wallet?

Don't forget they also get a few percentages of interest on US debt. And they get to keep it all, since USDt pays no interest to its holders.

The incentive is there, doesn't mean that there needs to be something fishy going on. Although I do think that Uncle Sam looks at them more favourably since they hold his debt

What’s wrong with aqua? Because tether is on the liquid network?

They hold all your data.

What data? Transactions?

I can't remember its an older episode I will 3x the thing tonight

I’ll listen to it. Just hoping for a bullet point

I think it has to do with their user agreement

I’m not seeing anything completely heinous in it. Pretty boiler plate. Things are probably very different for the third party integrations to buy bitcoin but otherwise it looks like your data is stored locally on your phone

This is the pod that inspired the OG note
