I think the importance of certain things were less obvious when most of the countries around today were being established, unfortunately.

True, but the bureaucaste is not helping with the power grab and western societies that haven’t been through communist regimes are not questioning the authority like we do, especially on the Balkans. Unfortunately there is not much change through votes.
