Correct. It's about anti censorship, not privacy.

(Currently)

So I agreed and understood the “currently” for a while... And I'm more getting at the nuance of how to separate content than privacy. After a lot of push back of me asking, do I just white list clients who are going respect a no rebroadcast tag, so the context doesn't just get jumbled everywhere else... Idk I support you trying to figure that out, but I also see how there might be ways to do this through scripts and other methods. I also agree relays need to get paid, and it sucks that in the current system the sale of, pay us to stay dumb, is a hard sale.

On the anti censorship front… I think staying dumb does give the opposition an excuse to say, they have their space there so joe’s gonna make his catholic server even more strict and not feel bad. There might be an unintended deleterious domino effect of responsibility over what a relay serves, and moving first, at a time when there is yet to be an issue of sw’s being excommunicated from relays, might not be the best thing for censorship resistance.

But if I could spin up a relay that is to talk about a topic I like, anyone could join it, but the notes stayed there in context, Id fund that for certain topics I’m interested in with out charging a dime. but that’s not what was created. If sw is the catalyst that changes peoples minds on that great. But I was throughly pushed back on, that this isn’t the way to accomplish this. That even relays as spam filters was just relays solving an issue because client's we're so new that there was too much on their plate.
