Technology is deflationary. This means that over time I get better and better products/services for my money.

If money is inflated by more and more money in circulation, then over time I get less and less for my money.

Both together, i.e. more and more technological progress, which I can afford less and less due to inflation, leads to the economic drifting apart of society. Those who benefit from inflation (cantillion effect) are at an even greater advantage. Like two boats going faster and faster in the opposite direction.
