If the success of Bitcoin and its ecosystem is still dependent on or even just affected by which politician or bureaucrat is in office, cypherpunks must write more code.

I don't think bitcoin success depends on politicians, but they will affect it in some form or the other.
The only thing they can affect, in my humble opinion, is the speed of adoption. They can certainly make it more difficult to convert fiat into #BTC, but they can't stop it entirely.
In my 5-6 years in #bitcoin , it was supposed to be vice versa. #Bitcoin should affect the politicians to have no choice but to be honest else face repurcussions like how Assange and so many others are facing for stating truth
