For me, I generally sleep about 8 hours a day, but at weekends I can sleep a lot longer.

That said too much sleep can make you feel lethargic.

Some people thrive on a lot less, I have a friend that gets 4 - 5 hours sleep most nights, he seems to thrive on it.

Listen to your body is probably the best approach.
