Good question.

In my current view: Someone who converted himself and everything under his rule to Christianity because Jesus was literally there with his iron rod.

pretty much, but the point is that was 300 years later and rome continued to exist in some form and had strong relations with most of its former territories, but the adoption of christianity and rejection of the roman polytheism forced this, in the late stages of a second imperium, and yes after that it really was over

same thing with england 1600-2000... it was not the same as the stuff that was born out of the collapse of the oligarchy and rise of early stages of capitalism due to decentralisation and christianity, it's usually thought that the USA is a separate thing but that is all just a marketing scam, within 20 years teh US government was infiltrated with british spies and influence and money, and prior to that, the britons rose to dominance as the colonial power, so the same basic pattern... the oligarchy succeeded in continuing to hold power but they changed the face of their empire for marketing purposes, literally political embrace/extend/extinguish

they are trying to do it again and russia and china and india and iran are all like "not another cycle sorry"

and i think again it will be the Rod of Lord Jesus that rules the day over the next 30 years
