The betting offices have him in seventh place and rising and everyone at the German bishops conference is pre-lecturing the German cardinals to pick someone nice and friendly, instead.
They're now at the Bargaining Stage, where they start offering up "Cardinal Sarah, the light version" (pun full intended) cardinals, as an alternative.
It's been mildly entertaining to watch.
