The extradition case has ZERO to do with all of this, but a lot to do with why people like you think it’s somehow legitimate that he can be kept in solitary confinement for five years (without being convicted of any crime).

He got 50 weeks for violation of bail conditions, and after that, he was simply kept in Belmarsh. Ongoing, with no end in sight.

Before his incarceration, the CIA made plans to kidnap and murder him. Again: A man, not convicted of any crime.

This has nothing to do with the rule of law. This is barbarism.

The rule of law must not be about revenge but justice.

How can it be legal for a country to impose penalties (fine, etradite, incarcerate, execute) upon the citizen of a foreign country who is operating in a foreign country. Our laws would not apply there. We would have no jurisdiction there.

This creates a chilling effect on liberty everywhere. If you can be prosecuted by a foreign power for doing or saying something that is legal within the country where you are located and is not prohibited by your home country's laws, then you can never be sure that you are safe. This would make whoever has the biggest stick the arbiter of the rules.

It is the responsibility of the State to protect its citizens. The State has failed in its obligations Julian Assange. The USA has no jurisdiction to prosecute him. He should be a free man...

There are plenty of things that should be...

You won't get them in a collapsing civilisation.
