TLDR : I orange-pilled my very first complete stranger! ⚡🔥🤙

I've been so jealous reading all the stories that many of you shared when you orange or purple pilled someone in a random situation. 😮‍💨

Well it happened to me today and it felt great!

I was driving to my home town with my son and decided to give a lift to a hitchhiker. He started to explain that he was out for the day to buy some old silver coins as he was using those as investments. Immediately I was like "hoho that could be interesting". 😉

Very soon we started to talk about money, inflation, store of value etc.

So, when the time was right, I told him my thing was bitcoin. He immediately dissmissed it saying he didn't trust crypoo. Then I launched my first punch : "Bitcoin not crypto" and explained what I meant. 🤙

He already knew a little about it but the difficulty was that he was convinced that money had to come and be handled by wthe State. So we had a long talk about it but I felt that it was hard to sell him anything else. 🤔

Then came the environmental aspect. There I think I was really, really good. He knew a lot about energy as a whole and quickly grasped on the idea of miners as buyers of last resort and the potential for mining to allow buildingw infrastructures where it wouldn't be financially viable otherwise. 🤙🤙

And then came the "it can't really be used as means of payment". That's where I heard « Finish him » in my head. I made him download Wallet of Satoshi and sent him sats on the go. ⚡⚡

And then it just clicked. It was something to be seen. Having an account just by downloading an app and receiving value instantaneously with no strings attached : he was blown away. 🤙🤙🤙

That's when I could start to make some links between the importance of proof of work, a money that has to cost something to be valuable, the censorship resistance and permissionless aspect of it and the instantaneity.

He ended up telling me he was definitely going to look into that tonight with his friend as he was sleeping at his appartment. 🔥🔥🔥

I told him a little about Nostr but it didn't have much time left but he grasped on the idea of value 4 value I guess...

So in the end orange pilled ✅, ESG debunk ✅, bitcoin not crypto ✅, superior mean of payment ✅.

Maybe not enough time to really make him think enough about the "money out of state reach" thing but all in all, I feel really good about all this! 🎉🎉
