The best option if lifetime membership as you don't have to worry about loosing access.

At the moment there aren't many members in my area. But still I was able to meet with a visitor, that was fun and enriching. Also it keeps me updated on any events close by. Group chat is a good place to exchange and learn.

The only critical thing I can think of is that it's build on a centralized app. Would prefer an app built on Nostr. But then it's ok in the end. If it helps to meet bitcoiners, I'm all in.

Great, thanks! I was thinking that it might be a honey pot for criminals - like knowing where the bitcoiners are... or am I wrong?

That's why it's not free to join. This rules out most spammers. One advantage of the centralised app is that if someone doesn't respect the rules, they could be kicked out.

I've had no bad experiences in over two years.

Bitcoiners are a very positive crowd. They're not like crypto investors who are looking to make quick money.

Bitcoin is different; it's about creating a better system than fiat one. It's a philosophy. It's a community based on true value and human connections. It's a peer-to-peer network.

Alright, I see. This makes sense then - thanks for the explanation 🙏🏼
