This winter brought a surprise none of us expected—a beautiful Black Swallowtail butterfly emerged early from its cocoon! Last fall, we brought in some cocooned butterflies from our carrot garden, hoping to release them in spring. But nature had other plans, and one decided it was time to say hello, despite the snow outside!
