the protocol can be changed by consensus.
obviously jack has the majority of the vote.
he can change the protocol and put in an algorithm.
he wrote a note about that.
when i asked him about it, asked for details, i got bullied and personally attacked by one of his guard dogs instead of providing an answer.
this tells me indirectly that an algorithm will be put into the protocol.
if it is in the protocol it will also be in any client no matter what you use.
