No matter what I try, I always get fruit flies in my garbage within 30 seconds of throwing away any food scraps

I give up, I guess they are my pets now

Iā€™m still fighting that fight, but when I diffuse peppermint oil (essential oil in an oil diffuser) they seam to all disappear for a while.
