Was inevitable and finding a solution was going to be necessary at some point, its unrealistic to have a protocol like this and expect all of its participants to be altrustic and good actors.
I think the paid relay stuff will ultimately be the solution but who knows.
Yeah the spammer makes a valid point. Paied relays seem to be unaffected so far.
