#nostr has a reputation on other sites as a site that could contribute to radicalization of young men (alt-right pipeline)

What is the #plebs' response to this?

Make your point in a civilized manner, please.

Where did you get this idea of radicalisation here from?

That's what's good about NOSTR, right? You decide what you want to see hear read, not an algo like the rest of centralised apps.

Something is offensive? Block it, simple as

That's what I'd do.

Yes, what you're describing is a good thing!

I'm just saying activists should get better at social media

nostr is, as intended, decentralized. You can't ban people and you can't take it down.

What I'm saying if this mode of communication catches on, the invincibility of it could be used for echo chambers and filter bubbles to thrive.

I think we should focus on popping the bubbles and building bridges between people.

I like nostr, and I think it should keep evolving, as it is a place where people care.

I believe you can block users, and not see what the post, maybe I'm wrong.

Being decentralised means free,no censorship so everyone uses it as they fit.

It's the individual use of it what matters.

So far is amicable, friendly and very relaxed atmosphere, even for newbies and not techologically advanced people.

I've blocked a couple of accounts on here because they were obviously white supremacists, but the notes I see are mostly about nostr and bitcoin.

For research purposes, discuss these 2 prompts (on the same nostr account)

1. What will happen when the site becomes more mainstream and far-right organizations catch on?

2. Does the hypothesis you argue in 1 sound like a positive direction for you?

Talk to me #plechain

You either block them like you've done with the two accounts of your example and move on or fight their narratives with yours, whatever makes you happier.

The truth is, even the most radical organizations have found their way through centralized social media, and will always do. See how ISIS/ISL used YouTube as one of their main propaganda platforms.

good point, plus facebook and (probably youtube) outsource manual review of reported content to poorer countries...
