Did anyone here grow up with these things? I feel like a lot of you may be too young to have experienced this rite of passage, or maybe nothing like them existed in your part of the world.

This is the one I had for a very long time.
I had a TMNT one. Was weirdly self-conscious about it.
I was so into TMNT. I used to study the original comic books for hours because I wanted to be a professional cartoonist when I was a kid.
They were plastic by the time I existed, but I had one with Ninja Turtles on it.
The metal ones made the best sound when you banged on them after they were empty. I’d keep mine until they were all dented and falling apart. Everything just rolled around inside so by lunchtime my sandwich looked like it has been dropped off a cliff and stomped on by an elephant.
Can’t recall what was on my metal one.. but it was replaced by ALF. sadly ALF was plastic.
We were poor. I had one of these
