Women have always been integral to the cypherpunk movement. From Jude Milton, who invented the "Cypherpunk" term, to Meredith Patterson (Len Sassaman’s wife), who has integrated her "support vector machine datamining" library inside of PostgreSQL to provide a "query-by-example" extension to the SQL language & worked on the "Mixmaster anonymous remailer" project, to Susan Sons, who has contributed to the development of "Tor", women have made significant contributions to the field of cryptography & digital privacy.

On this "International Day of Women", let us celebrate the women who have made significant contributions to the "cypherpunk" movement. Let us acknowledge the barriers they have faced, and commit to creating a more inclusive & equitable digital space (i.e. #Nostr). And let us continue to push for a world where privacy and security are available to everyone, regardless of gender, race, or any other factor.
