I get the sentiment, but that’s really not a road we want to go down.
Best let people freely choose, even if they choose dumb shit

The basis of our economy is debt-driven consumerism. That's the real point. 99% of the crap propaganda tells us we need distracts us from what we really need to live well.
We're not seeking good relationships, value production, inspiring architecture, industry.
Instead, we're chasing trash. We're chasing the shit we've been told makes our lives better but doesn't.
Free choice is great, but the choices we're making aren't real choices.
100% with you on the analysis of our choices.
I’m just cautious of the saying “need” cause it gets slippery and politicians especially are not sure footed
As Aquinas argued, if we go down a road of legislating such dictates, or forcing people to “the good” it would cause an even greater evil destroying the dignity inherent in our humanity.
We can make good decisions, and hopefully the fruit of our labor inspires others to join us.
If society will change for the better, it will be grassroots up not top down.
just like bitcoin
fiat is trash
but we can’t make people choose btc
I have no interest in legislating the choice. It was simply a reminder that the consumer crap people think they need is just a ruse to prop up a broken system.
