And I never had cable as a kid! 🤣 My friends would record 120 Minutes and I had a dual deck VCR, I'd make VHS mixtapes of the best videos. Just... the best music around. Like a lot of the underground bands we see on Bandcamp today. But it required all that money and often (small?) label support of some kind to make videos and to get them to MTV, I'd assume. But then again, I've seen SO MANY great home/self made music videos lately too. Mind boggling.
